Tony was born in Nyack New York. He moved to Florida in the late 70’s. He attended Sunstate Academy of Hair Design, at that time owned and operated by Ken and Jim Stone. Tony graduated and went to work at Top of the Line Barbershop in Englewood Florida. Two years later he went to work as an instructor for Sunstate Academy where he worked for five years.
Tony and his wife, Gayl, started PHD Hair Academy. Students from PHD Hair Academy, in 1987, made up the entire U.S. Olympic student men’s hairstyling team. They competed in Germany and won 3rd place in the world for the U.S. team. Tony and Gayl remained as an instructor and program manager for 27 years.
In 2005 Tony purchased Sunset Barbershop and has fulfilled a dream of owning an “Old Fashioned Barbershop”. One of Tony’s hobbies is fishing and some of his great catches are on display in the shop.
Bobby “The Razor”
Bobby was born in Staten Island New York. He moved to Clearwater in 1997 and operated a commercial cleaning business. In 2003 he enrolled at Sunstate Academy of Hair Design to become a Barber. After graduating he worked at Sunset Point Barber Shop. Bob left for a few years but has returned.
Suzanne was born and raised in Clearwater, Fl and is a graduate of Dunedin High School. In 1991 Suzanne enrolled at PHD Hair Academy. While in school , Suzanne competed in a Premier Beauty Show as a student and received a 1st place in the Student Men’s Consumer Day Cut and Style category. She graduated PHD Hair Academy in 1992. In 1993, Suzanne started working at Sunset Point Barber Shop and remained there for 5 years. She left to work for Nicholas Michael Salon in Palm Harbor. Suzanne competed again in the 2001 Premier Beauty Show in Orlando, Fl, and placed 2nd in the Male Fashion Cut and Style category. For the last 81/2 years Suzanne has been a stay at home mom to her childern. She has returned to Sunset Point Barber Shop part time, and is dedicated to re-establishing herself on a more full-time basis.
